All About Doodle Canvases
You may have seen doodle canvases on social media or at your LNS. What exactly is it? A doodle canvas is a stitch library you can practice decorative stitches on. As a bonus, you can use this as a finished reference piece to help you choose decorative stitches in the future.
Doodle canvases can be any size and on 13 or 18 mesh. Mine is a 14x14" 18 mesh canvas, so I have 100 1-inch squares for decorative stitches.
Here are the supplies you need to get started:
- blank canvas (14x14 is recommended, but can be any size)
- micron pen
- stretcher bars (optional, but helps with tension)
- extra thread from old projects or a pack of DMC floss
- size 22 needle for 18 mesh or size 20 needle for 13 mesh
- scissors and needle threader
